These three pieces written for woodwind quintet were commissioned by Russian National Orchestra Wind Quintet for their China tour but canceled due to the pandemic. Fortunately, they got a chance to record the 1st piece “Jasmine Flower Fantasy”.

“Dusk by the Fishing” Boat midi demo
An arrangement of an ancient theme from a famous music under the same title, the music depicts a beautiful evening scene seen from the fishing boat on the lake.
“Peacock Dance” midi mp3 demo
Wind Quintet “Peacock Dance” is written as a dance music in Chinese ethnic minority Dai style. The music is trying to mimic the movement when the peacocks are dancing. The melody is shuttled between major and minor keys and repeated by each voice in a slightly varied form.
The sforzando tremolo on a high register resembles the shaking motion when peacock in full bloom while the accented tutti shows their dignified character.
